Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Newton County Court Docket. Using the website signifies agreement. Anyone who does not accept the terms must stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no affiliation with a court or government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides services for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act uses. The resource points visitors to Newton County, Texas docket and case-record channels. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of all courts and government offices. It does not store official case records and cannot retrieve a docket, file papers, or alter a court date.

Its purpose is to identify Newton County custodians, including the District Clerk, County Clerk, trial and lower courts, and the re:SearchTX statewide search layer, while also linking to outside research tools.

2. Informational Use Only

All content is general information. Explanations of Newton County dockets do not replace an official clerk record, court order, or attorney’s advice. Confirm material facts with the District Clerk, County Clerk, or court that maintains the case.

The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, does not automatically govern adjudicative court case records. Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 provides a separate process for covered judicial records, while docket sheets and filed case documents remain subject to the rules, orders, and statutes that govern the responsible clerk’s file.

3. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If you need a background check for any of those purposes, use an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

No content is legal advice. General Newton County docket information cannot determine how a filing deadline, order, charge, or case affects a person. Consult a licensed Texas attorney for that advice.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Dockets change constantly - cases are filed, hearings are set, settings get reset, and matters are sealed, dismissed, or amended. We try to keep up, but gaps are unavoidable. Nothing on this site should be treated as an official statement from a court or clerk. Always verify a docket entry or court date with the court that holds the case before you rely on it.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

We link to clerk of court sites, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, what they charge, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.

8. Intellectual Property

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We can update these terms whenever we see fit. New terms go into effect the moment they appear on this page.
